Currently there are two main sublimation ink in the market , water-based sublimation ink and solvent-based sublimation ink . The most popular one is the water-based sublimation ink and most of the sublimation paper using water-based sublimation ink now .
This is because , first , the cost of water-based sublimation ink is lower than solvent , second, the water-based ink is more environmental than solvent. The solvent ink will produce waste gas during the transfer process and harm the human body .
Sublimation ink is mostly made up of sublimation dye and a carrier . The carrier allows the sublimation dye to be applied or printed onto the sublimation transfer paper .

So when you are printing the high quality sublimation ink , the paper could dry more faster ,because there is less water in it , but with poor sublimation ink , the paper will dry much more slower because there’s more water in it .
